In a world where three million people migrate to cities every week, it has become imperative to forge urban environments that promote quality of life and sustainability.

Urban greening is a strategic commitment aimed at achieving more livable and healthier cities. It involves reclaiming the space that nature has lost in the city to combat the problems caused by urban development.

The incorporation of elements such as living walls, green roofs, or green corridors creates new green infrastructures in cities that help interconnect urban spaces with nature. Architecture plays a pivotal role in this transformation. Architects bear the responsibility of changing how we build, considering the lifecycle of materials, utilizing local and sustainable materials, and designing buildings with a focus on energy efficiency.

Sustainable Cities

The transformation of the city into a sustainable environment entails envisioning cities with parks and green spaces, buildings equipped with solar energy, and living walls on building facades and rooftops. This is not a futuristic dream; smart cities are actively progressing towards greener urban ecosystems and improved environmental management.

In this context, vertical architecture emerges as a promising solution that turns challenges into opportunities.

An inspiring example is the living wall installed on an apartment building in the city of Cracow, covering an area of 192 m2. In this innovative project, in collaboration with our partner Hadart, we utilized our modular textile system, Fytotextile®, whose optimized layer combination creates an excellent growing medium for vegetation. Its design enhances root oxygenation and improves water distribution while protecting the structure on which it is installed.

Once again, it is demonstrated how architecture can seamlessly merge with nature, incorporating elements such as indoor gardens and green areas that gradually conquer our cities.

Companies Promote Sustainability

It is intriguing to observe how large companies are striving to implement environmental strategies and action plans to ensure the viability of their businesses and contribute to urban sustainability. By aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), they not only demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection but also actively work to address global challenges such as reducing carbon emissions, promoting clean energy, and developing sustainable communities.

This approach encompasses efforts ranging from climate change mitigation to enhancing the quality of life for people in urban environments, thereby strengthening the connection between business success and the construction of a more sustainable future for all.

These companies are the ones that must set an example and demonstrate that sustainability and livability go hand in hand.

Sustainable architecture and design have become fundamental pillars in addressing the challenges of climate change and creating spaces where nature and the community can thrive together.

In this journey toward a sustainable future, architecture can pave the way for greener and more habitable cities, in harmony with sustainable business strategies and urban renewal efforts.
