SPECIFIC LIGHTING FOR INDOOR PLANTS

The design of auxiliary lighting is a critical aspect in indoor vertical living wall projects, which are becoming more and more frequent in projects. At Terapia Urbana we solve this requirement in a specialised way from the project phase.

Light is vital for plants to be able to photosynthesise and grow correctly in the long term. At Terapia Urbana we have developed and tested a lighting system that provides the necessary energy (PPFD) and has a spectrum that covers the biological needs of the plant. In addition, these lamps have an excellent colour rendering index and colour temperature for the human eye, making them perfectly compatible with interior lighting design.

LIGHTING STUDIO

1 SPACE STUDY

The space is studied to determine which type of lighting is most suitable for each case. The architectural integration in the false ceiling or ceiling slab is analysed, depending on the type of projector. This analysis is completed with a simulation to take into account the elements that could affect the correct distribution of light.

2 STUDY OF INDIRECT

SOLAR LIGHTING

We develop an indirect lighting study to estimate the energy obtained by reflected or indirect solar lighting (indirect PPFD calculation). This energy will be complementary to that provided by the auxiliary lighting system.

3 AUXILIARY LIGHTING STUDY

In view of the previous points, we simulate the distribution of light radiation using specialised software. This simulation allows us to obtain an exact distribution of the expected levels that will be considered in the landscape design.

4 DETAILED TECHNICAL PROJECT

All the information is detailed and developed in a technical project documentation, specifying the type and power of luminaires required, distribution and orientation plans, with angles, distances, etc., so that the need for lighting support is resolved with guarantees.
